As fans are aware, the previous episodes of the series witnessed Sam McCall ready to sacrifice her life for Lulu Spencer. She decided to donate her liver to Lulu in hopes of awakening her from a coma. The surgery went well for both Sam and Lulu, who finally came out of danger. Sam appeared to recover as well but things ended up taking a shocking turn. Suddenly, she started feeling dizzy and passed away, leaving everyone shocked and heartbroken.
In the episode aired on November 20, 2024, the real reason behind Sam’s death is finally disclosed. It is revealed in a flashback sequence that Sam passed away because of an overdose of a medicine named Digitalis, which she was not even prescribed.
As a result, rookie officer Dex decided to delve deep into the murder mystery of Sam. The weekly promo showcased the cop continuing his search at Rice Plaza. There is a scene of a mysterious person, possibly the killer of Sam McCall, holding a syringe and bottle of Digitalis. The person in scrubs ends up injecting the medicine into someone’s IV. Further, Dex tries to look for evidence in a trashcan. However, his peace is short-lived when someone asks him to go down and Dex appears to be stabbed in the back.
As such, fans feel that Dex’s character might be killed by Sam’s culprit to erase the evidence. However, neither the actor nor the makers have addressed the character’s exit rumors yet. Fans can look forward to the upcoming episodes of General Hospital to get a clear picture of Dex’s future.
