9-1-1: Lone Star: Why Fans Think the World Will End in the Finale

The recent promo of 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5‘s final episodes, which will be premiering next month, has fans thinking that the series won’t end on a good note. The clip subtly teases an asteroid approaching Austin, which potentially could also lead to humanity being wiped off. If it happens, it would increase the stakes for the main leads and set up a wild climax for the viewers before the season comes to a close. So, here are details on the recent teaser, which made fans think that it’s the end of the world.

9-1-1: Lone Star final episodes trailer teases a world-ending event

While the final episodes’ teaser does indicate the possibility of the world ending, it remains unclear if the world would be destroyed in 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 5.

The 30-second preview features an emergency being announced to the firefighters. The scene soon shifts to all of them receiving an alert on their phones, which indicates an approaching larger-than-life challenge for them. The message reads, “Asteroid threat to Austin in Approximately 1 hour. Seek Immediate Shelter. This is Not a Drill.”

Now, the band of firefighters is required to stick together to deal with this life-ending threat. Throughout the teaser, the titular characters race against time to save their city, which could set a memorable conclusion to the season. While the teaser mentions an asteroid approaching the Earth, it is not confirmed if it will happen in the finale or in the previous episodes. The show will return on January 20, 2025, after the mid-season break.

The mid-season finale titled “Fall from Grace” showcases Carlos being relieved at finding out his dad’s murderer. Initially, he doubts Ranger Campbell and wants to turn him in. However, it soon strikes him that Bridges has a similar gun that killed his father. As Bridges is about to have Carlos dead, the former is shot by Campbell. All ends well for Carlos, who gets justice for his dad’s demise and visits his grave too.

Meanwhile, Owen is given a significant opportunity but he is on the verge of turning it down. Judd battles alcoholism but eventually surrenders to his addiction when Grace remains absent. Moreover, Tommy gathers the courage to undergo cancer treatment. Now, how the story will unfold further in the upcoming episodes remains to be seen.
