Taylor Swift Only Murders in the Building Easter Egg explained
The Only Murders in the Building Season 4 Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s easter egg is a quick appearance of a life-size doll bearing a striking resemblance to the former. Not only that, the doll can also be seen wearing a jersey with the number 87, which is Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs number.
This doll can be seen in a blink-and-miss appearance in the scene where Mabel, Charles, and Oliver sit in Charles’ sister Doreen’s living room, which is filled with several dolls, as Doreen is a doll collector.
After noticing the Only Murders in the Building Easter egg, fans flooded social media. Many took to X (Twitter) to share their thoughts. One fan tweeted, “I was watching the new episode of only murders in the building and..IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE TAYLOR?”.
Another fan expressed that the doll greatly resembled Taylor Swift. However, they said that they had to look at the scene twice to ensure it had been a red shirt as she subconsciously associated the color red and number 87 with the Kansas City Chiefs. Swift has often worn shirts and jackets bearing the number 87, whenever she attended games played by the Chiefs at the Arrowhead Stadium.
This easter egg appearance happens about a month after the Only Murders in the Building leads Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin addressed the possibility of a Taylor Swift cameo in the series in an E! News interview. Gomez claimed Swift was “a little busy”, referencing the All Too Well singer’s current engagement with her long-running Eras Tour. The tour is scheduled to conclude on December 8, 2024.
