YouTuber Jack Doherty wrecks his McLaren car while streaming

Jack Doherty was driving his McLaren on the road while it was raining, accompanied by his friend Michael David. They had been live streaming. Doherty was looking at his phone while driving, resulting in them veering to the edge of the road and totaling their car. The YouTuber was seemingly unscathed. However, Michael sustained some bloody injuries to his head and had to be taken to the hospital.

The McLaren was heavily damaged was subsequently towed. Doherty’s recently uploaded video on YouTube chronicles the aftermath of the accident. It also shows Doherty’s and his friends and family’s reactions to the event. In a conversation with Michael David, he revealed that their gas tank was empty at the time of their accident. Doherty opined that had it been full, the car would have exploded. The YouTuber further added that they had only crashed at 42mph, and if their accident had happened at double the speed, they would’ve died.

Doherty’s mother was relieved he survived. She later reminded him that the McLaren was unsuitable for rainy weather. Later, he confirmed that he was also permanently banned from Kick in a conversation with his mother.

Following the accident, multiple mixed fan reactions hit online. One fan, Dissident West, suggested on X (formerly Twitter) that he had to be sued for the incident by the passenger and needed to get locked up. Another fan, Fergy, correctly pointed out how Doherty seemed to care more about his damaged McLaren instead of his friend Michael’s wellbeing. Yet another fan, Kangmin Lee, called him a “narcissistic psycho” for handing his camera to his friend to continue streaming despite the latter’s injuries and bleeding.
