Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Gets 1080p Gameplay Premier to Begin PlayStation Experience

For the first time in four years, a new gameplay demo has been shown from the Uncharted series. As expected, it blew the audience away.

First and foremost, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End‘s world premier gameplay demo shows that the graphics demonstration shown at E3 was in-fact gameplay footage. Despite being nearly a year from launch, the game looks phenomenal in motion displaying at 1080p. The demo went out of its way to show outstanding water effects and lighting that push the boundaries of what the PS4 is capable of. As with the Uncharted games that came before it, this has a good shot at becoming a benchmark for console graphics once it hits store shelves.

Nathan Drake’s next journey is his fiercest yet. He looks older, more rugged, and has a lot of miles on him after what he went through during the past four games. But that hasn’t stopped him. He’s still capable of navigating treacherous environments, taking out enemies silently, and shooting firearms with precision.

More than anything you may be happy to hear that what’s here is very familiar. Nothing was shown that deviates too far from the series award-winning heritage. Even the melee system appear to be the same as in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. If you love beautiful graphics and going on epic journeys for treasure, then this is your game.

It’s important to note that the demo was played live for the audience, as seen by a glitch encountered about halfway through. This is exactly how the game looks to play in its current state, which is quite incredible.
