No Man's Sky is arguably the most exciting upcoming video game, though we still don't know a great deal about it. In an age where a single game can have several trailers before its eventual release, it's refreshing that No Man's Sky remains so mysterious, even though we all desperately want to be given more information about it.
Fortunately, our prayers have (kind of) been answered, as Sony has released a mini-documentary about the game and its developer Hello Games, detailing the trials, tribulations and successes the studio has encountered since starting the project. The mini-doc runs through everything from the game's show-stealing appearance at the VGX Awards, the flood that almost destroyed all of their progress and its E3 2014 showing.
It also concludes with a few snippets of gameplay footage, showing the seamless transition from land to space as the player-character hops into his spaceship and flies into the far reaches of whatever galaxy No Man's Sky is set in. It sounds like a real labor of love from Hello Games, and while I didn't think I could possibly get any more pumped for it, this has put me into excitement overdrive once again. Please hurry up and release this, Hello Games, before I start running across the ceiling with excitement.
