Madden NFL 15 Gets Official Box Art with a Blinded Richard Sherman

EA has released the official box art for Madden NFL 15. It features Seattle Seahawks Cornerback Richard Sherman seemingly blinded in the center of CenturyLink Field. At least he has cool gloves.

Sherman played a huge part in the Seahawks’ success during the 2014-14 NFL season, recording 8 interceptions and shutting down a variety of offensive weapons. He earned a wealth of notoriety for his outspoken personality, which caused quite a stir after the 2014 NFC Championship game when be exploded with emotion and some choice words for opponent Michael Crabtree.

Although Sherman has his share of fans and haters, he was one of the most impactful players during the last NFL season, leading the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl Championship. For that reason, he was selected by EA as the cover athlete for this year’s Madden.

Off the field, Sherman is a very nice guy. It’s good to see him get on the cover of Madden 15, although the box art is a bit strange. Seen below, it makes it look like the sun’s reflection is blinding Sherman. Madden NFL isn’t particularly known for having outstanding cover art, but this is definitely one of my least favorites. Couldn’t they have shown him intercepting a pass or lining up for a tackle?
