Listed at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, Steph Curry is still much bigger than the average male, yet in the basketball world, he’s tiny.
He’s also probably the greatest shooter in the history of basketball.
Such are just two of the many reasons I find myself a tremendous fan of the Golden State point guard. I watched him tear up the NCAA Tournament in 2008, taking his 10 seed Davidson team to the regional finals, losing to eventual national champs Kansas by just two points. Since then he’s even casted a shadow over his father, Dell, who I remember draining threes for the Charlotte Hornets back in the 90s (Dell is actually Charlotte’s all-time leading scorer).
But this year Curry took it to a whole new level. He did what an MVP should do — show us things we never knew one could do on the basketball court.
Is Curry the best player on the planet right now? Nope. That honor still goes to LeBron. But Curry certainly had the best season while also leading his team to the best record in the NBA.

And probably the play of the year.
Curry broke the record for most three-pointers made in one season this year. He had a stretch after the All-Star break where he made 125 3-pointers in just 29 games, making 51.7 percent of his attempts.
This season he’s averaged 23.8 points, 7.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2 steals per game.
