The upcoming Marvel Studios reboot of the Spider-Man movie franchise, set to hit cinemas in July 2017, is rumoured to have a new title.
According to Umberto Gonzales, formerly of Latino-Review, the film’s working title is Spider-Man: The New Avenger. Gonzales made the report via his Instagram account, taking pains to reiterate that the rumour remains unconfirmed.
The rumoured title makes clear to fans that this version of Spider-Man swings from building in the same world as The Avengers, especially given previous reports that Spider-Man will first make a cameo appearance in another Marvel movie, rumoured to be Captain America: Civil War.
Kevin Feige recently confirmed to Crave Online, that the Spider-Man reboot will not be an origin story, but will “reveal it in different ways and spend much more time focusing on this young high school kid in the MCU dealing with his powers.”
