Crime rates must be WAY down in Metropolis and Gotham City, because apparently Batman and Superman have nothing better to do than to zip around their cities and deface each other’s posters, as revealed on director Zack Snyder’s twitter account.
The “World’s Finest” superheroes will meet for the first time (in live-action, officially at least) in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. They will also be joined by fellow DC Comics heroes Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). But it’s not all going to be hugs and kisses: as the first teaser showed us last Friday, they are definitely going to fight each other.

But did they have to resort to graffiti? These two new posters for Batman v Superman make it look like our heroes are going beyond ideological differences and are instead getting totally childish. One imagines Superman flying through Metropolis, looking at all these Batman symbols carved out of his posters, and going all Tracy Flick on the city. (Hey, he already destroyed it once, right?)

Or maybe Superman started it, forcing Batman to interrogate him. Watch this scene from Election and try to imagine Reese Witherspoon as Superman, and Matthew Broderick as Batman. You’ll get the general idea.
In all seriousness, these are indeed striking poster designs, but the fact that graffiti is part of the ad campaign for Batman v Superman implies that someone is actually defacing all these posters, and makes us want to know who it is. If not Batman and Superman, who? And why? And doesn’t this seem like small potatoes after the new teaser told us that the heroes are fighting over serious ideological issues, as opposed to which of them will have a more kick-ass college application?
