It’s been twenty three years since Bruce Campbell last played Ashley “The Chosen One” Williams in Army of Darkness… not counting a tiny cameo in the Evil Dead remake.
But now Ash is back in the upcoming STARZ original series, Ash vs Evil Dead. Naturally, Campbell is reprising his role as Ash, and I believe the words “aging lothario” were used to describe Ash’s current state. Within the series, it’s been nearly thirty years since Ash took on the Evil Dead (known as the Deadites)… and it’s time for a rematch.
STARZ has released the first teaser trailer for Ash vs Evil Dead… and that’s all it is. There’s absolutely no footage of the show here, just a few graphics done in a similar style to the Evil Dead poster with sound effects. But the good news is that fans won’t have to wait too long to see Ash back in action.
Ash vs Evil Dead will reunite Campbell with Evil Dead and Army of Darkness director Sam Raimi and producer Rob Tapert alongside a cast that includes Lucy Lawless, Amanda Fisher, Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo.
STARZ has previously announced that the ten episode Ash vs Evil Dead series will premiere this fall.
