Game Freak (yes, the team behind Pokémon) has taken to the public stage to announce a new SEGA-published IP. You’re probably wondering what it’s called, right?
Tembo the Badass Elephant.
Creative naming aside, it’s a 2D side-scroller coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC that features an elephant commando named Tembo that is on a mission to save Shell City from most certain destruction. Did you catch that one important detail (or rather, omission) in all that? Nintendo isn’t in the list of consoles included in the release plans. For Game Freak, this is an interesting move, as Nintendo platforms have been their home for a couple decades.
Knowing that, here’s a trailer for your information and enjoyment:
What do you think? Does it look fun to you? Personally, I find that it looks like a fun new adventure. Check back throughout the upcoming Spring season for more on the game as it is developed.
Thanks to Crave’s Game Revolution for the news about Game Freak’s new IP.
