Milo Ventimiglia Threatens ‘Gotham’

It doesn’t seem likely that Milo Ventimiglia will have a starring role in the upcoming “Heroes” revival, “Heroes Reborn.” But he will be entering another comic book universe on TV.

Fox has announced that Ventimiglia has been cast in a major recurring role on “Gotham” as Jason Lennon aka The Ogre. As the codename suggests, Ventimiglia is playing a villain, but his character will not be a direct translation of DC’s Ogre.

For this incarnation, Ventimiglia’s Orge is described as “a serial killer who has been preying on the young women of Gotham for nearly a decade, luring them into his web and confronting them with a series of “tests” as he searches for his perfect mate. When the women fail to live up to his impossible standard, Lennon disposes of them quickly and viciously.”

In addition to his four season stint on NBC’s “Heroes,” Ventimiglia is known for his roles in “Gilmore Girls,” “The Bedford Diaries,” Rocky Balboa, “Mob City” and “Chosen.” Ventimiglia has also voiced Wolverine in the Americanized versions of Marvel’s Anime series.

Ventimiglia will make his first appearance as The Ogre in the 19th episode of “Gotham” Season 1, which Fox hints will “send both Gordon and [The Ogre] — and those around them — on a course toward tragedy.”

“Gotham” airs Monday nights on Fox.
