A new year is upon us, and us Canadians always find a great way to ring it in, whether we’re on the East Coast or the West. Here are the best New Years Eve parties from coast to coast.
Halifax
The largest NYE party in the East, Halifax’s Grand Parade is free and fun for all ages. There will also be events held at the Casino Nova Scotia, Olympic Community Centre, and Yuk Yuk’s (for some great laughs).
Montreal
As always, thousands will gather at the Old Port for festivities that include an always-impressive fireworks display at the stroke of midnight. There are also slews of parties at some of the most popular clubs, like Fluid New Years at Club Soda (with open bar!), Midnight in Paris at The Main’s Rouge Bar, the All Pinq Ball at Pinq, Club La Boom, and Le CinQ.
Toronto
If you’ll be in the TO on the 31st, the city is hosting a bash at Nathan Phillips Square.with live music, food trucks, and the big countdown with a fireworks display. There are also cruises (like the Northern Spirit 1 dinner and gala), and a Midnite New Year’s 5K run.
Ottawa
The capital region is also the capital of New Years Eve parties – at Sparks Street Village near Parliament Hill there will be entertainment, food, and fireworks, and at the Aberdeen Pavilion at Lansdowne Park, the Scottish Society of Ottawa is hosting a New Years Eve Hogmanay party. Admission to both of these events is free.
Calgary
Check out the outdoor winter party at Olympic Plaza in Calgary for family-friendly New Years Eve celebrations, or dress to impress at the Beatmatrix Gala. Go to the New Year’s Eve 2015 Masquerade Ball at the Roadhouse (and enter for a chance to win a trip to New Orleans), or participate in the Calgary NYE Club Crawl 2015.
Vancouver
They may ring in the New Year last but that doesn’t mean they do it with any less enthusiasm – if you’re celebrating ’15 in Vancouver, then consider New Years at the Fox Cabaret, the Solid NYE 2015 party at Pacific Coliseum (featuring Tiesto and Steve Aoki), or a Back to the Future-themed ‘do at Ukrainian Hall.
