Watch Students Awkwardly Kiss for the Very First Time

There’s been an epidemic of videos in which strangers awkwardly kiss for the first time (by epidemic we mean two videos, along with one in which strangers slapped each other which was weirdly created by Chronicle director Max Landis), and now there’s another in which students from the University of Bristol play tonsil tennis with one another. We’d blast the university for their lack of originality, but honestly, we can’t get enough of seeing strangers awkwardly snogging. We think that there might be something wrong with us.

The video sees 18 males and females branch off into couples before going at it, with some of them seeming to enjoy locking lips with a stranger, while others were a little less impressed. For instance, the guy in the denim jacket pictured above had to deal with his kissing partner actually running away from him, an incident which we can imagine will see him being mocked his fellow students.

The video was created by University of Bristol TV’s Gemma Wilson, with station manager Will Pope saying: “When Gemma came to me with the idea for the shoot, I really wanted to get involved with the project.

“It was quite a tense atmosphere in the studio – a lot of the participants weren’t at home in front of the camera which may have been a bit daunting.

“I was asked to star in the video but I said no. All the students were volunteers, who knew exactly what they would be asked to do.

“It was great fun, and the footage we got was really heart-warming. Their reactions are so human.”
