Rapper Drake is opening a bricks and mortar storefront of his popular OVO clothing line (October’s Very Own), according to the Star – the boutique will be open in time for holiday shoppers.
Rumours began earlier this week when the celebrity posted a photo to his Instagram account that showed an “Opening Soon” sign outside of a storefront that looked to resemble one in downtown Toronto, where there have been previous OVO pop-up shops (but this would be Drake’s first actual storefront). To confirm, the Star visited the address, at Dundas and Bellwoods Ave., on Thursday evening, where they reported that the front window is covered in paper printed with the OVO logo (however, the gold-coloured owl on the brick above the window appeared to have been partially broken off or have been removed since Drake’s original Instagram photo). An employee inside told reporters that they were still under construction and that they would be opening in time for the Christmas shopping rush.
Up until now, OVO clothing can only be purchased online via their official website.
Drake’s 2013 project Nothing Was the Same, was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize, and took Drake on the Would You like a Tour?, which started in Pittsburgh on October 18, 2013 and ran through to March 25th of this year at The O2 Arena in London. In July, Drake told Billboard that he was releasing his fourth studio album, Views From The 6, in 2015.
