DC Comics Reveals The First 10 Convergence Miniseries

Last week, DC Comics officially announced the Convergence event that will help fill in the gap between DC’s move from the East Coast to the West Coast. For two months, all of DC’s superhero titles will be replaced by the nine issue Convergence miniseries and 40 two issue tie-in miniseries.

Today, DC announced the first ten Convergence miniseries via io9 and Comic Book Resources. As previously hinted, the Convergence miniseries will feature several characters in their pre-New 52 incarnations, including Wally West as The Flash, Stephanie Brown as Batgirl, Barbara Gordon as Oracle and Superman with his red underwear… as well as his wife, Lois Lane.

As you can see from the picture, Lois Lane is pregnant with Superman’s child in the two issue Superman miniseries by Dan Jurgens, Lee Weeks, and Norm Rapmund. Gail Simone, Jan Duursema and Dan Parsons are taking on the Nightwing/Oracle miniseries which finds Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon contemplating their future together before facing an attack by the Flashpoint Hawkman and Hawkwoman.

The original Teen Titans resurface in Titans, by Fabian Nicieza, Ron Wagner and Jose Marzan. That story follows Starfire, Donna Troy and Arsenal, who is given the choice of saving either his team or resurrecting his murdered daughter. And over in Justice League by Frank Tieri and Vicente Cifuentes, the Flashpoint Aquaman attacks Supergirl, Zatanna and Jade during Jessie Quick’s baby shower.

Fans of old school Harley Quinn should be happy to see her in the Bruce Timm designed costume during her miniseries by Steve Pugh, Phil Winslade and John Dell. The description implies that Harley is dragged back into action by Catwoman and Poison Ivy to take on… Captain Carrot?! Ron Marz, Denys Cowan and Klaus Janson are taking on Batman & Robin; which follows the unlikely team of Batman, Damian Wayne and Jason Todd as they battle the Extremists.

Alisa Kwitney, Rick Leonardi and Mark Pennington will be the creative team on Batgirl, as Stephanie Brown resumes the mantle to help Red Robin (Tim Drake) and Black Bat (Cassandra Kane) fight the Flashpoint Catman. In The Atom miniseries, Tom Peyer, Steve Yeowell and Andy Owens reunite Ray Palmer and Ryan Choi in a clash with the Extremists.

Wally West and his superpowered children return in Speed Force by Tony Bedard, Tom Grummett and Sean Parsons. In this story, the Flash family is separated from Linda Park (Wally’s wife and the mother of his children) as they take on Flashpoint Wonder Woman. And finally, Greg Rucka revisits Renee Montoya aka The Question alongside Cully Hamner as Two-Face goes up against the Harvey Dent of another world.

Convergence will begin in April 2015 and continue through the end of May.
