If you’re a comic book fan, there are always new comics to buy as well as new graphic novels or trade paperbacks to pick up. It’s a never-ending cycle, and we like it that way.
But if you’re ready to take your love for comics to the next level then there is also the world of comic book collectibles. This is a fairly broad category that include action figures, posters, art prints and even high end statues that can demand hundreds, if not thousands of dollars.
In other words, this is for the truly die hard comic book fans who have money to spend.
For the Marvel and DC fans, there are usually a lot of options for your favorite characters… and even for some of the more obscure creations. As part of our annual holiday gift guides, we’ve assembled a list of the ten comic book collectibles that really caught our eye going into the Christmas season. This year, our primary focus is on the comic book statues… And yes, Batman is well represented on this list… but if you expect me to apologize for how awesome Batman is, that’s just not gonna happen.
We’ve made our picks, but we want to hear from you too. So share your picks for this holiday season’s best comic book collectibles in the comment section below!

Over twenty years later, Batman: The Animated Series and its followup series, The New Batman Adventures remain one of the best ever interpretations of Batman.
DC Collectibles is revisiting the Batman animated series with a new line of action figures that beautifully recreate the Bruce Timm designs from the show. These figures blow the previous animated Batman toys out of the water.
Only Batman, Catwoman, Two-Face and Mr. Freeze are in the first wave, but DC Collectibles has a second wave of figures coming with The Joker, Robin, Poison Ivy and Man-Bat. If you loved this show, it’s good time to be a fan.

BUY IT NOW: AMAZON.COM
McFarlane Toys is challenging Lego with a new line of highly detailed Walking Dead sets that were inspired by the AMC TV series. Essentially, these sets are made out of very Lego-like bricks and then covered up with separate attachments that recreate the look and feel of the show.
There’s even a fair amount of customization possible, for the more creatively minded. McFarlane Toys is also offering more pieces and figures that can be linked to the various Walking Dead sets.
Black Widow Avengers Now ArtFX Statue
PRICE: $49.99
BUY IT NOW: AMAZON.COM
This is part of a line of statues created by the Japanese company Kotobukiya that were inspired by the Marvel Now relaunch of the Avengers. That’s why this Black Widow statue more closely resembles her comic book counterpart rather than Scarlett Johansson’s movie incarnation of the character.
Comic artist Adi Granov designed this Black Widow statue and it’s one of the more affordable statue options this year. But if you prefer the other Avengers, Kotobukiya also has statues of the Hulk, Hawkeye, Captain America, Iron Man and Thor.
Superman and Wonder Woman Holiday Kiss Statue
PRICE: $99.99
BUY IT NOW: AMAZON.COM
For the romance lovers, DC Collectibles has recreated a Jim Lee drawing of Superman and Wonder Woman sharing a kiss under the mistletoe while flying in the air.
This approximately 8.75 inch tall statue is a more affordable recreation of a much larger statue that was previously released. If you want to pick up a statue without breaking your bank, this is a good place to start.
Batman (1960s TV Series)
PRICE: $204.99
BUY IT NOW: AMAZON.COM
The Adam West Batman TV series from the ‘60s is having a comeback this year. And while the entire series is now out on DVD, Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys have released an amazing recreation of West’s iconic Batman.
How awesome is this statue? It comes with a can of Bat-Shark repellent! A Batarang, a Bat-radio and a bomb are also included, in addition to three interchangeable lower faces that are based on West’s most commonly used facial expressions in the TV series.
Gotham City Garage: Catwoman Statue
PRICE: $349.99
BUY IT NOW: AMAZON.COM
Not to be outdone by Sideshow, DC Collectibles has a high end statue of the modern Catwoman on a motorcycle that was designed by artist Dustin Nguyen and sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios.
This is one of the biggest statues on this year’s list, measuring 8.5" Tall x 15.5" Wide... And it is breathtaking. If you’re missing the traditional Catwoman mask, this statue does include a motorcycle helmet that was modified to include Catwoman’s cat ears.
But for this particular statue, it’s a more striking visual to see Selina Kyle without her mask.
Poison Ivy Premium Format Statue
PRICE: $349.00
BUY IT NOW: SIDESHOWTOY.COM
One of Batman’s other femme fatales is in high demand this Christmas season. Sideshow Collectibles is releasing a 21” tall Poison Ivy statue as part of the Premium Format collection. And at that size, the level of detail is amazing.
Sideshow has this Poison Ivy statue set to hit next month, just in time for Christmas. But the prices on Amazon are ridiculous at the moment, so you’re better off going to the source for this one.
Red Sonja Premium Format Statue
PRICE: $379.99
BUY IT NOW: SIDESHOWTOY.COM
Sideshow Collectibles has a reputation for making impressive statues based on comic book heroines. This year is no exception with a new Red Sonja Premium Format statue, just in time for the recent surge in Red Sonja fandom as Gail Simone and Walter Geovani’s run enters its final stage.
Yes, Red Sonja’s famous metal bikini is included here in all of its detail, in addition to her cloak, sword and axe as well as the helmet of the poor fool who apparently fell at Sonja’s hands. Sideshow’s previous Red Sonja statue sold out and this one is also likely to go quickly.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Rocket and Groot
PRICE: $359.99
BUY IT NOW: SIDESHOWTOY.COM
After the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Rocket and Groot are now among the best known characters in comics. A blockbuster film can really raise your profile... just ask Iron Man!
One of the most iconic moments in Guardians of the Galaxy is recreated in this large format statue that also includes interchangeable expressions and hands for Groot and even a potted Baby Groot.
The bad news is that this statue is only on pre-order for a March 2015 release. But if you've got a Guardians of the Galaxy fan in the family, this is the big ticket item.
Iron Man Mark III
PRICE: $309.99
BUY IT NOW: SIDESHOWTOY.COM
As you might expect, there are a lot of Iron Man statues now. But Sideshow Collectible’s newest Iron Man statue really caught our eye with a faithful recreation of the final Mark III armor from the first Iron Man film.
Set in a 1/6th scale to the original suit from the movie, the Iron Man Mark III statue was made with diecast material and it may be one of the best Iron Man statues ever.
The downside is that this statue is also a preorder for next summer, so it will be a while before anyone gets their hands on it. But as an early pre-purchase for the hardcore Iron Man fan, this is the top of the line.
