Taylor Swift just announced her new North American tour, The 1989 World Tour, with five Canadian cities making the cut – a number of musicians will join the “Shake It Off” hitmaker on the tour, including viral hit Shawn Mendes and Australia’s Vance Joy.
Swift will perform at The Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa on July 6th before making her way to the Bell Centre in Montreal July 7th, and several weeks later she will put on shows at B.C. Place Stadium August 1st, then at Rexall Place in Edmonton for the next two nights.
Selling more than 30 million records to date, Swift has won slews of awards, from Grammys (7) and Billboard Music Awards (12) to Academy of Country Music Awards (7). Her fifth studio album, 1989, came out last month with the first single “Shake It Off” hitting airwaves back in August.
In July of this year, Forbes magazine placed the 24-year-old at #18 for their Celebrity 100, her fifth time making the list, with her highest earnings to date at $64 million.
