Shaw Media and Canada’s Walk of Fame recently announced the all-star lineup of presenters and performers for the 2014 Canada’s Walk of Fame Tribute Show. Hosted by Jason Priestley, the television event airs on Friday, December 19th at 8pm on Global.
The list of celebrity presenters includes Canadian actor Jay Baruchel, honouring Rachel McAdams; critically acclaimed actress Wendy Crewson honouring Louise Arbour; broadcaster Jian Ghomeshi, honouring Ryan Reynolds; music legend Ronnie Hawkins, honouring The Band; six-time Olympic medalist Clara Hughes, honouring Hayley Wickenheiser and JUNO Award-winner Tom Cochrane, honouring Jeff Healey, the recipient of the posthumous Cineplex Legends Award.
There will also be a number of musical tributes – Canadian musicians The Treasures, platinum-selling singer-songwriter Bobby Bazini and the Barenaked Ladies’ Kevin Hearn take the stage for a special musical tribute to The Band, while R&B singer Sean Jones, drummer Sekou Lumumba, JUNO Award-winning bassist Calvin Beale, musician Justin Abedin, songstress Quisha Wint and blues guitaris Jimmy Bowskill perform a moving tribute to Jeff Healey.
The two-hour 2014 Canada’s Walk of Fame Tribute Show honours a selection of internationally acclaimed Canadian visionaries for their lifetime achievements in music, sport, film, dance and television, as well as the literary, visual and performing arts, science and innovation. A block of tickets to the star-studded tribute show are available for purchase.
