New York Comic Con: Legendary Plans New ‘Lost In Space’ TV Series

Back in 2003, a “Lost In Space” TV reboot almost went forward at The WB with a pilot episode directed by John Woo. While that project failed to take off, the Robinson family may be about to get lost all over again.

At New York Comic Con, Legendary TV has announced plans to go forward with a new reboot of Irwin Allen’s 1967 sci-fi series, “Lost In Space.” In the original incarnation of the series, the Robinson family’s five year mission to another world was sent off course in outer space due to the sabotage of Dr.Zachary Smith, who ended up trapped on their ship, the Jupiter 2 as they tried to finish their mission.

The Dracula Untold screenwriting team of Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless are writing the pilot episode of the new “Lost In Space” TV project and they will both be executive producers on the project alongside Kevin Burns from Synthesis Entertainment.

“Lost In Space” does not currently have a network attached to the project, but it will likely be shopped to the cable and broadcast networks soon.
