“Doctor Who” Season 8 continues this weekend as The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman) encounter one of the show’s oldest foes: The Daleks.
Showrunner Steven Moffat is co-writing the second episode of the season with Phil Ford, which is appropriately enough called “Into the Dalek.” BBC has also released a short synopsis of the episode, which hints at a potential game-changer for the Daleks.
“A Dalek fleet surrounds a lone rebel ship, and only the Doctor can help them now… With the Doctor facing his greatest enemy, he needs Clara by his side. Confronted with a decision that could change the Daleks forever he is forced to examine his conscience. Will he find the answer to the question, ‘am I a good man?’”
This episode is also going to introduce Samuel Anderson (“Gavin & Stacey”) as Danny Pink, Clara’s new love interest and a potential new companion for the Doctor down the line. In the first of this week’s three preview scenes, Danny and Clara meet for the first time at Coal Hill School

In the second preview clip, the Doctor brings Clara into his current crisis and they get a first hand look at a Dalek that is so badly damaged that it has become something… else.
And finally, the third clip focuses on a dark moment between the Doctor and Clara as neither of them can definitively answer the Doctor’s question about who he is.
“Doctor Who” Season 8 Episode 2 will premiere on BBC America on Saturday, August 30.
