The creative folks over at Filthy Frackers have created an 8-bit rendering of the iconic opening of “Twin Peaks“. Reimagining David Lynch and Mark Frost‘s famously absurd and creepy town in glorious NES style, the Frackers’ attention to detail and MIDI score are out of this world.
Everything from the majestic Snoqualmie Falls to Angelo Badalamenti‘s noir-like opening theme song have been rendered to perfection. It makes one wonder what could have been if a “Twin Peaks” video game had indeed come to fruition.
According to “Twin Peaks” fan site Welcome to Twin Peaks there were, for a brief period in the ’90s, rumours that Agent Dale would be having his next conversation with The Man from Another Place on a Nintendo Entertainment System.
Unfortunately, the company that was to be at the helm of the project, Hi Tech Expressions, never got around to making the thing. Instead, we’ll have to settle for what Filthy Frackers have put together for us. Oh, and there is that Atari-style Twin Peaks game you can download for free.
