Will Arnett Confirms More Arrested Development

Netflix and the Bluth family will be teaming up together once more with Will Arnett confirming earlier reports that “Arrested Development” will return for a fifth season on the online streaming service.

Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s head of content, first broke the news last week saying he is “positive” that another season of “Arrested Development” will be developed but “it’s just a matter of when.”

Arnett, who plays Gob in the series, has now confirmed that the cast are on board. “We are going to do more Arrested Development,” Arnett told Carson Daly. “Ted Sarandos and Netflix kind of let the cat out of the bag on that one. It’s something we all want to do so we’re excited.”

“You know, the truth is, that the guy who’s the big boss man at Netflix, he announced it,” he added during his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. “It’s going to happen. We don’t know when, but it’s going to happen.”

Netflix brought back “Arrested Development” for a long-awaited fourth season last year, seven years after the show was abruptly cancelled. It’s re-developed format, offering individual episodes showcasing just a handful of characters due to the actors’ clashing schedules, garnered mixed reviews.

Sarandos admitted that it was a “fair criticism” that “the cast didn’t appear on screen often enough together” during the fourth season, but there’s no word yet as to how creator Mitch Hurwitz will approach a fifth season.

Arnett appeared on “The Tonight Show” to promote his latest film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
