On the first day of Comic-Con Warner Brothers released a cheeky teaser poster for Mad Max: Fury Road. Today they screened some footage, which was presented handsomely as in line with the previous Mad Max films — dust, greed, oil, blood. Director George Miller (who also directed the original films) said that, “chase scenes are the purest cinema so I wanted to make a movie that was one giant chase scene!” He also called the film his “imaginary friend” that wouldn’t leave his head… for years.
After numerous delays and recent barrages of photo spreads, we’ll all get to see a trailer and Miller’s friend-in-his-head in theaters on May 15, 2015. In the meantime there are some character posters below for Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult and Hugh Keays-Burne.
The Dust & The Furious? Drew Taylor at The Playlist was very impressed with the screen footage — he writes:
“This is some next-level, fire-breathing, post-apocalyptic mayhem… A mind-boggling mix of practical and computer generated effects, with car chases the likes of which have previously never been captured on screen.”
Wow.
