One of the biggest attractions to travel sites like Hotels.com is the interaction featured on the site between guests – the reviews are a huge reason why people choose one hotel (or restaurant, or airline) over another.
“Guest reviews are a helpful resource for travellers and studies have shown 72 per cent of consumers trust them as much as personal recommendations,” says Taylor L. Cole, APR, travel expert at Hotels.com, in a press release. “Our reviews are verified and can only be submitted after the guest has completed their stay, so customers get genuine insights into the properties.
In Canada, smaller hotels rated higher than large-scale chains. Looking at the highest overall guest ranked property in popular cities throughout Canada, guests gave two bed and breakfasts the highest ratings.
