Shovel Knight wouldn't be a true NES throwback without some ridiculous cheat-codes or easter eggs, and it seems Yacht Club Games has delivered in gleefully childish fashion. Enter "Butt Mode."
To access Butt Mode, the player must type the name "WSWWAEAW" when creating a new profile after the title screen. He or she will then be greeted by a message that states that Butt Mode is irreversible for the selected profile, and that Feats (Shovel Knight's version of achievements) have been disabled.

Upon choosing an actual name (after entering the code), each and every text instance of the words knight, shovel, health, and mana will be replaced with the word "butt." Ill assume you don't need me to explain the hilarity that ensues, especially since this rule renders the main character's previously honorable name of Shovel Knight as "Butt Butt." Enemy knights you'll face now include the likes of "Mole Butt" and "Propeller Butt."
Though I appreciate Yacht Club's humor, I think I'll refrain from Butt Mode for the time being. That said, when the gender swap quest arrives with Shield Knight as the potential protagonist, I absolutely intend to seize the chance to play as "Shield Butt."
Somehow I get the feeling the folks at Yacht Club have been reading too much Andy Griffiths.
