Last week, “Arrow” wrapped up its second season with a decisive win for Team Arrow, even as Thea (Willa Holland) and Sara (Caity Lotz) left Starling City behind. While it’s unclear if Lotz will return to “Arrow,” Holland remains a series regular and she will definitely be back. The newest “Arrow” series regular, John Barrowman confirmed that while speaking to TVLine.
“[Malcolm has] got to train her to be a powerhouse, to be a tough bitch,” explained Barrowman. “She’s tough now, but she’s got to be tougher.”
As for the Black Canary-sized hole left by Sara’s departure, Katie Cassidy hinted that Laurel may take over the role sooner than fans might expect. “I do think the torch has been passed,” said Cassidy. “I get that feeling, and I think everybody else gets that feeling.” Cassidy also relayed that her workout regimen has been increased to physically prepare her for the third season.
Finally, Stephen Amell offered some thoughts about the next main villain of “Arrow” now that Slade Wilson is out of the picture. “[Slade was] omnipresent,” noted Amell. “I don’t think that will necessarily be the case in Season 3… It’s going to be a little bit different than in Season 2.”
“Arrow” Season 3 will begin this Fall on The CW.
