Next week the NBA will hold its annual draft lottery to decide which franchise gets the first overall pick next month at the draft, held at the Barclays Center, the home of the Brooklyn Nets. The worst overall team last season, the Milwaukee Bucks, have a 25 percent chance of choosing the NCAA’s top star, while the Philadelphia 76ers (19.9 percent chance) and Orlando Magic (15.6 percent) are close behind.
There are two runaways as the top prospects in all of college basketball – two potential franchise players that both have teams hoping the lottery balls fall their way, for a bright future.
One of those players is Andrew Wiggins, from the University of Kansas.
Wiggins, 19, could be the next big face of the NBA once he grows into his potential – though he’s already pretty damn good. Last season, in his rookie campaign with the Jayhawks, the Canadian-born small forward averaged 17.1 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game and shot 34.1 percent from beyond the arc. At 6-foot-8, he’s got great size, as well as speed and will immediately impact whichever NBA team picks him.
But so will his counterpart, Duke University’s Jabari Parker.
However, earlier this week Wiggins might have helped his cause in earning the top pick. It’s that time of year, when draft hopefuls like to show off their skills, posting exercise workouts and more to Twitter and Instagram, but the photo P3 Sports Science posted of Wiggins this week was nothing short of incredible.
