Imagine if the only people on Earth who had superpowers were members of royalty from around the world. That’s the premise of Rob Williams and Simon Colby’s six issue Vertigo series, The Royals: Masters of War.
In 1940, the march of World War II continued according to history’s design. But Prince Henry of the British royal family broke the truce between the super-powered families around the world by personally intervening in the Blitz against England.
That would have been a good thing if the Axis didn’t have super-powered royals of their own, as even the Emperor of Japan has god-like abilities that could crush the Allies.
As the story resumes in this week’s The Royals: Masters of War # 4, Prince Henry and Princess Rose undertake a deadly mission in Russia to retrieve a German royal who promises to unmask the spy in their midst in return for his rescue. But in our exclusive preview, Rose faces a terrifying nightmare at home as her own mother goes on a rampage.
The Royals: Masters of War # 4 continues this Wednesday, May 14.
