Ever wanted to wear your disposable income on your sleeve? How about underneath your TV? Though there are certainly better ways flaunt wealth, the new Analogue Nt from Analogue Interactive strikes a brilliant balance of form and function. For a premium price, that is — a cool $499.
The Analogue Nt is essentially a souped-up NES, to the point that it truly resembles a cutting-edge piece of modern hardware. Heck, I wish my Wii U looked this sexy. Each Analogue Nt is carved from a solid block of aluminum alloy, and though the internals remain largely similar to that of an original NES, there are a few tweaks such as improved AV circuitry, allowing for cleaner signals across the board.
Additionally, the device will accept not only authentic NES and Famicom cartridges, but any and all peregrine peripherals released for the original industry-saving gray box. That means anything from Duck Hunt light guns to R.O.B. the robot can and should operate properly, if you know where to find them.
The folks at Analogue Interactive clearly long for a bygone era of gaming, if their comments on the new product are anything to go by.
There is no downloading, updating or installing. No patches or DLC. No bullshit to deal with. It’s made to play games. That’s it. Sit down, plug in a game, press start, and play.
Preorders for Analogue Nt are scheduled to ship this summer, so get ’em while they’re hot.
