NYIAS 2014: Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell powered by Hydrogen

NY International Auto Show 2014: Quickie… by CraveOnline

We're finally past the days of scoffing at the perceived ridiculousness of hybrid and electric cars.  Beyond politics, beyond questions of engine power and beyond questions of black magic, the era of the electric car is approaching faster every day.  One of the only major drawbacks of the fully electric automobile is the range restrictions.  Batteries only last for about 75 miles before needing a recharge, and recharges can take hours.  If you live semi-close to work or don't drive distance often, then many of the electric cars on the market work ok for you. But if you want to travel and be able to refill quickly, today's electric cars just aren't practical.  Until this spring that is.

The all new 2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell powered by Hydrogen is a revolution in the electric car market.  By using hydrogen to fuel the battery, you can go up to 265 miles on a single charge! And refueling the hydrogen fuel cell takes less than 10 minutes! It will take time to hydrogen stations to spread throughout the country, but there are already 8 operational in Southern California where the new car will launch this Spring, and plans for 100 more stations are scheduled before 2024. I'd predict we'll all be driving hydrogen fuel cell cars before I kick the bucket. Oh what a quiet world, devoid of traffic noise my future children have to look forward to…
