It’s finally here. By popular demand, CraveOnline‘s weekly movie podcast now offers feature-length movie commentary tracks. And if you have ever actually listened to The B-Movies Podcast, then you know that hosts William “Bibbs” Bibbiani and Professor Witney Seibold absolutely had to begin with Step Up 3D.
Yes, Step Up 3D. Unironically referred to by both William Bibbiani and Witney Seibold as “the best movie ever,” Step Up 3D is the third film in the hit dance franchise created by Duane Adler (Make Your Move) and refined to damn near perfection by director Jon M. Chu (G.I. Joe: Retaliation). Although many fans of the series prefer 2008’s Step Up 2: The Streets (including comedian Nick Frost, who told CraveOnline he was inspired by the first sequel to make his recent film Cuban Fury), Bibbs and Witney gravitate towards Step Up 3D‘s unique blend of action, romantic comedy, superhero and kung fu movie clichés to create an atmosphere that is both utterly unique and comfortably familiar.
So download the commentary track, queue up Step Up 3D and press play on iTunes or the MP3 player of your choice. Bibbs and Witney are going to explain the brilliance of Jon M. Chu’s camera angles, how the finale of Step Up 2 influence the badass Battle of Gwai, the strange alternate reality in which hats are communal property, the two characters with the darkest secret backstories, the magical history of Alyson Stoner, the power of robots, the obscure joke in the film’s soundtrack and why Step Up 3D may be many things, but it is not a sports movie.

Anderson’s cult favorite haunted spaceship movie Event Horizon. Witney loves it. Bibbs doesn’t. Who will win the fight?
