Last night the Americas witnessed a beautiful sight as the Earth’s shadow fell across the moon, causing it to change colour from orange, to brown, to blood red.
The ‘blood moon eclipse’, as it has been called, is a rare event that will be followed by three other eclipses throughout the rest of 2014.
Needless to say, those who were lucky enough to see the blood red eclipse took some photos of it, which you can view in the gallery below.
