I’m writing this after watching the below video of an animatronic dancer approximately 1,000 times, and despite having seen it so many times I should probably now be completely densentised to its grotesque, demonic face and gyrating hips, it still sends a cold shiver down my spine.
The abomination animatronic figure was created in the mind of artist Jordan Wolfson, and was brought to life (it creeps me out just writing that) by the folks at Spectral Motion. It features facial recognition technology, which means it can lock eyes with those in its vicinity and follow them around with its terrifying blonde head.
It’s currently being exhibited at David Zwirner Gallery in New York, and you can watch a video of it doing its horrible, creepy thang below.
