SXSW 2014: A Night In Old Mexico – Interview… by CraveOnline
Robert Duvall really is a living legend. He made his motion picture debut in To Kill a Mockingbird as the classic character Boo Radley, and proceeded to star in the unforgettable films MASH, THX-1138, The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Network, Apocalypse Now, Tender Mercies (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor) and the TV mini-series “Lonesome Dove.” So to say William Bibbiani was honored to meet him was an understatement. Fortunately, he’s a really cool guy. After they interview ended they talked for another five minutes about the best barbecue restaurants in Austin, TX; the most popular topic of conversation at SXSW.
We got Robert Duvall to talk about his new film A Night in Old Mexico, its 25-year-old roots in “Lonesome Dove,” dancing with prostitutes, casting his wife as a Texas Ranger in his next film, relationships with women much younger than he is and partying with Matthew McConaughey’s brother, Rooster.
