Watching “Game of Thrones,” it’s easy to forget that not a lot of time has passed since the first season. Before Jon Snow (Kit Harington) went beyond the Wall with the Night’s Watch he almost rode off to reunite with his half-brother, Rob Stark to avenge their father.
Now that Jon is back at Castle Black, he’s going to learn that the Stark family has seemingly been wiped out, the Lannisters are firmly in control of King’s Landing and the Night’s Watch is facing a war on two sides from the White Walkers and the Wildings.
In short, Jon’s got a lot of problems this season. And it’s only going to get harder from this point on.
With the fourth season premiere of “Game of Thrones” just under a month away, HBO has debuted a new extended trailer for the season that explores the Red Wedding’s psychological toll on Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish’s (Aidan Gillen) surprisingly sound philosophy for dealing with his enemies, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) ordering her army to lay siege to a city and Prince Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) aka The Red Viper insinuating himself with the Lannisters while awaiting his chance to strike.
“Game of Thrones” Season 4 begins on Sunday, April 6.
