Last night I played Grand Theft Auto V for the first time in a few weeks, and as I parked my 3rd Truffade Adder in Franklin’s overstuffed garage, I thought to myself, “there must be more to life than collecting these.”
As it turns out, there is! Sort of. Rockstar has revealed that GTA V and GTA Online’s next free update, called the “The Business Update,” will hit PSN and Xbox Live on March 4th. The update includes (you guessed it) a number of new sports cars, including the Dinka Jester, Albany Alpha, and Grotti Turismo R. Also included is a new plane called the Vestra, and it looks pretty sharp.
Additionally, Rockstar is bring some new weapons with the update as well — the Heavy Pistol and the Special Carbine. Just like previous updates, if you’re playing story mode the weapons will appear in your inventory, and the cars will become available in your garage. For GTA Online, they will have to be purchased.
I wish the new stuff had to be earned in Story Mode as well. I know Rockstar probably figures it’d be pointless since the game’s final heist gives each story character an obscene amount of money, but even so — seeing the new cars buzzing around Los Santos and figuring out where they spawn would be a fun diversion.
Concerning the future, Rockstar teased a number of things to come, including Online Heists, an update to Capture Creator, new Assassination and Flight School missions, and “much more.”
It’s likely that “much more” refers to story DLC, the thing I’m personally the most excited for. Whether said DLC will tie up loose ends or simply present another adventure for the Michael, Trevor, and Franklin to tackle remains to be seen, but I’m crossing my fingers for a playable Trevor’s Mom mission. Hear that, Rockstar? I think I’m on to something.
