Athletics’ Josh Reddick Steals Two Home Runs

For the last five seasons, Josh Reddick has made his fair share of eye-popping catches and this year is already proving to be no different.  Spring Training exhibition games began on Wednesday and already the Oakland Athletics outfielder made two of perhaps the best catches you’ll see this winter.

Visiting the San Francisco Giants’ spring training complex, the contest went as to be expected for the middle of February, but there were two big plays that helped lead the Athletics to a 10-5 win.

The first came early on when Michael Morse came to the plate and launched a high fly ball to deep right field.  It appeared as though it would easily clear the eight-foot fence, but the 6-foot-2 Reddick jumped up on it, threw his arm over and made the spectacular rob, immediately bringing life to the crowd. The catch was one of the better ones of his career, trumping the “Spider-Man” catch he made two years ago during a 16-0 win over the Toronto Blue Jays – but what happened next was even more impressive.

With Morse once again at the plate, the 31-year-old outfielder again cracked a high fly to deep right field and again it garnered the same result.  Reddick, in a moment of déjà vu, jumped up at the wall and snagged the ball before it narrowly cleared the structure.  While it wasn’t quite as impressive as the first time around, to do it again, against the same batter, was pretty astonishing.
