Blu-Ray Review: Rocky: Heavyweight Collection

Conclusion

Surely we could have used some extras on the sequels. It’s a pet peeve of mine when franchise box sets only pay attention to the first film no matter how classic it is. You’re telling me Dolph Lundgren and Mr. T wouldn’t have done interviews? Or feature-length commentaries? Rocky Balboa has extras because it was produced in a time when extras were common. They have got to remaster the sequels for Blu-ray. Yes, even Rocky V. It’s the underdog, Rocky would want it to get its shot too.

Still, any collection of the Rocky movies is worth having, even if there are only three truly good ones. There’s too much history in Rocky IV and V, even if it’s infamous history in V. By this point you have your choice in collections, but the Heavyweight Collection is the latest one so I hope you appreciate the analysis of each film.
