If there’s one word to describe the meaning of Pompeii, it’s “hubris.” Not that of director Paul W.S. Anderson, he seems like a pretty cool dude, but rather the hubris of folks living in the shadow of an active volcano that could destroy them all at any moment, but assume it could never happen to them.
