Wallace finished second in the 2002 Slam Dunk contest and competed, and lost, again in the 2010 edition. It’s been four years and “Crash” should get one more shot to show off what he can do. An elder statesman in the league at age 31, the 12-year-veteran has shown flashes of the ultra-athletic player that he used to be during limited action for the C’s this year. Giving Wallace the nod at this year’s contest would be the NBA version of a “Lifetime Achievement Award.” If what Wallace did to Kevin Garnett on KG tribute night in Boston is any indication, it’s an award that Wallace would certainly appreciate.
