Mike Harris' mom has been a Seahawks fan for more than 35 years. Considering Seattle has only had successful seasons few and far between, it's rare when local fans have something to cheer about, let alone actually attend a championship game.
1983 was mom's first opportunity to attend a major game — the NFC Championship. However, she was pregnant with Mike and couldn't make the contest. Fast forward to 2005 when Seattle made their first Super Bowl — still no luck, as the family couldn't afford to go.
Needless to say it was a foregone conclusion that, although Seattle made their second Super Bowl in history this month, ticket prices and hotel stays were way too high for the family to even consider going to the game this year in New York. However, after Mike saw last week that ticket prices had dropped nearly $1,000, he was willing to do whatever it took to make his mom's dream come true.
