CES 2014: Ford Adds New Features (Pizza!) to AppLink

At CES 2014, Ford announced four new apps that allow you to order pizza at Domino’s using voice commands, automatically play music based on mood with HABU, monitor your homes or business security with ADT and find and pay for the nearest parking spot with Parkopedia and Parkmobile.

The Ford SYNC AppLink apps will also now fire up faster in the car thanks to simplified menus for voice commands. Drivers can now launch apps on their mobile device too by pressing the SYNC voice button on the steering wheel and simply saying the name of the app, giving drivers a safer, more consistent user experience.

Meanwhile, Ford is hosting an industry-first developer conference this June that will focus on bringing additional innovative mobile apps into the car through AppLink. Prior to the conference, developers will have the opportunity to win SYNC technology development kits and one-on-one support from Ford engineers through a mobile app competition at developer.ford.com.
