Chris Hardwick Expects ‘Talking Dead’ to Return

Comedy Central brought Chris Hardwick to present “@midnight” to the Television Critics Association today. After he did a bit on tweets from Buzzfeed’s Kate Arthur (you can follow that on Twitter), a television reporter asked Hardwick about the future of “Talking Dead.” AMC has not officially renewed it, but Hardwick expects it to return.

“Yes, as far as I know I think the show is doing well enough (cough beating NBC cough) that I think as long as they want me to come back I’ll do it,” said Hardwick.

Hardwick elaborated on where “Talking Dead” fits in with his busy schedule. It’s actually relatively low maintenance compared to his podcast and Comedy Central show.

“‘@midnight’ requires work,” Hardwick continued. “We go in every day, we build the show, it’s a real finesse job. ‘Talking Dead,’ it’s silly that I get paid to do that. It’s ridiculous that I get paid. My whole ‘Talking Dead’ schedule is Sunday afternoon I watch ‘The Walking Dead,’ Sunday night I talk about it and then I go home. I love doing it so as long as they’ll have me, I’ll do it.”

“@midnight” airs midnights on Comedy Central.
