Here we go! When Carol Danvers became Captain Marvel, she left behind an outdated thong costume, but also a serviceable superhero name, and now, one of her idols is picking up that mantle and becoming the new Ms. Marvel. Her name is Kamala Khan, and she’s a 16-year-old Pakistani-American who was granted shape-shifting superpowers thanks to the Terrigen Bomb set off by Black Bolt of the Inhumans during Infinity. However, seeking out Medusa and the Attilan ex-pats doesn’t seem to be on her agenda – balancing superhero work with family pressures are more than enough to deal with.
Check out this first look at Ms. Marvel #1, due out on February 5 from G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona, featuring variant covers by Neal Adams and Jamie McKelvie.
