Exclusive Interview: Greg Grunberg on Big Ass Spider

CraveOnline: I remember you on “Felicity,” and there was a Thanksgiving episode in which you posited a theory that in order to eat more on Thanksgiving, the trick wasn’t to not eat beforehand, you have to gorge yourself beforehand.

CraveOnline: [Laughs] Because you have to prepare your stomach!

That’s right! I’ve tried that. I’m not sure that did well for me. I just thought I’d share that.

What I do now, I just prepare myself all year long. You know? Because the last thing you want is for your stomach to be in shock from the amount of food you eat on Thanksgiving, so every meal I am thinking about Thanksgiving. Starting, you know, the day after Thanksgiving.

Right. You’ve really got to prep. I appreciate.

Yeah! That’s the healthy way to do it. [Laughs]

Is there anything else you’ve got coming up that you’re super excited about?

I’d love people to download my app. I don’t know that a lot of people know that I have an app called Yowza. It’s a free app, and I’ve been working on that for a long time. But other than that, no. Just Big Ass Spider. I hope everybody gets a chance to see it. It’s out there and it’s everywhere, so that would be the message, and it sounds like you enjoyed it and I appreciate it.

I’m actually quoted on the DVD.

Oh, that’s you! That’s great, man. Thank you.

Real fast, what’s Yowza? Give me the pitch.

Yowza is mobile coupons. It’s coupons, no paper. The app is free, it knows where you are, and it brings up all the coupons for the stores right around you.

That’s actually a really good idea!

Yeah, and it’s free! It’s not like Groupon. You don’t have to buy anything in advance. I just like to get the word out. Please, download this and try it! Why spend money paying retail when you can just press a button, show a cashier a little barcode, they scan it right off your phone and you save five bucks or whatever.

That sounds really cool. I’m going to download that right now, actually.

Okay cool! I appreciate it.
