Apparently beating the world in the 2012 IIHF World U18 Championships has given the lads from the United States some confidence. They beat Canada and then Sweden last April to win the gold and have decided this next year to wear jerseys emblazoned with, shall we say, an iconic image of absolute power.
The images of the Darth Vader game sweaters the team will wear January 18 when the team, part of the National Team Development Program, hosts its third annual Star Wars Night when the Waterloo Black Hawks visit the Ann Arbor Ice Cube hit Crave’s NESN Thursday.
Pretty cool stuff for an amateur hockey promotion. Now, to wait for eBay on January 19.
