Friday nights on NBC are already filled with the monsters of “Grimm” and “Dracula.” However, it looks like there’s a new monster in the mix.
According to Deadline, NBC is developing a TV series based on Joe Johnston’s 2010 film The Wolfman that starred Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. Daniel Knauf is writing the new “Wolfman” television project and executive producing alongside Scott Stuber. Knauf is best known for creating the HBO series “Carnivàle” in addition to serving as head writer and executive producer of NBC’s “Dracula.” Knauf’s previous TV credits also include “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” and “Supernatural.”
“The Wolfman” TV series will focus on Del Toro’s character from the film, Lawrence Talbot; a man who is stricken with lycanthropy in the late 1800s. The Deadline report describes the potential show as “a supernatural thriller that explores what it means to be a man and to be human.”
If “The Wolfman” goes to series, it will likely be paired with “Grimm” on Fridays.
