Following the conclusion of the “Doctor Who” 50th Anniversary Special, “The Day of The Doctor,” BBC unveiled a new teaser for the upcoming “Doctor Who” Christmas special that will mark Matt Smith’s final appearance as the Doctor.
To fully appreciate this short trailer, think back to “The Eleventh Hour,” Smith’s first full episode as the Doctor. The Doctor was told that “Silence will fall.” And we’ve never really gotten an explanation about who took over the TARDIS and tried to destroy reality just to get rid of the Doctor.
However, we have been told about the Fall of the Eleventh and the end of the Doctor’s life on a certain planet. From the looks of this trailer, almost all of the Doctor’s greatest enemies will be on hand as the Doctor looks to cheat death one more time. But one way or the other, this is the end of the road for the Eleventh Doctor.
The “Doctor Who” 2013 Christmas Special will be broadcast on December 25 on BBC America.
